Not Your Father’s Barber, located in Ottawa’s Historic Byward Market, is actively seeking a front of house representative to quarterback our operations and spearhead an increased social media presence to move our company to the next level.
Included responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following
- Create, develop and implement a comprehensive
social media campaign to drive traffic to the shop.
- Advanced knowledge of facebook, Instagram, twitter and the ability to update a wordpress website are critical skills to the position
- Manage day to day operations, including
- Managing appointment booking system
- Answering the phone and greeting clients
- Managing customer flow
- Handling of cash, including use of cash register and POS.
- Answering customer queries and concerns
- Light cleaning
This position is a pilot project, made possible through the Canada Summer Jobs Program and will begin with an initial 8 week full time position, beginning May 18th. After assessment of the successful applicants performance, this job may be extended for an additional 6-8 weeks. We are hoping to eventually make this a permanent full time position.
Applicants should be between the ages of 19 and 30 and currently a student or is planning on attending school in the fall.
Throughout this process the goal is to pass along as many skills as possible to the applicant. While our goal would be to hire this person full time after the initial 8-16 week period, we also recognize our responsibility to train this person as best we can so that the skills they learn would transfer into any position they took with us or somewhere else.
Starting salary is $14 / hr plus gratuities and will include 35 scheduled hours per week.
